Nice Device in Budget Segment with good set of features | REVIEW
To say in short, its one of the best devices out there in it’s price bracket. I have got two of them for my family. Its a budget device and we must expect similar performance from it.Flash sales here at Amazon are far better than anywhere else adn you have a fair chance at getting the product.•••••••••••••••INSIDE BOX•••••••••••••••1. Device2. USB cable3. Charger4. SIM ejector tool5. Few guides(No earphones, as is with every budget & midrange device)•••••••••••••••••••ABOUT DEVICE•••••••••••••••••••As trend goes, MI phones are value for money always. This one’s no exception.▶ Screen 9/10▶ Camera 8/10 (samples included)▶ Battery 9/10 (1 day 23 hour 14 min on battery, 100% to 4%; 6hrs 50min SOT)▶ Performance 7/10▶ Build 8/10▶ Sound 8/10Overall 8.1/10•••••••PROS•••••••1. Refreshing looks with rounded corner display & body.2. Good build quality with metal body.3. Nice 5.45 in HD display (1440 x 720 pixels resolution), 295 PPI and 18:9 aspect ratio. Good sunlight legibility.4. AI gimmick (haven’t tested it much).5. Full screen gestures, yes in pros as i love them in my Redmi note 5 pro & having them in low end segment is nice.6. No hybrid slot, three separate slots, so 2 SIM and extra memory at same time.7. Dual 4g standby (enable it in settings – SIM cards & mobile network).8. Android Oreo 8.1 out of box. Periodic security & bug fixing updates.9. Promised upgrade to MIUI 10 (upgrade released) & also a major upgrade to Android 9.010. Plethora of sensors (except IR in specific).11. Pretty decent camera (samples attached)••••••••CONS••••••••1. Performance may be a issue if you are coming from 5A. Having both devices right now, can say, this one is a bit on lower side compared to 5A as far as performance is considered.2. No IR blaster in 6A, i do use it a lot. It’s one the key features for me.3. Helio vs Qualcomm, & it will really matter in this device.4. Too many preloaded apps, though you can get rid of max off them & techies will be able to remove stubborn ones too.••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••BATTERY BACKUP (screenshots attached)••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••Device status: Locked bootloader, max apps restricted for notification access & autostart, screen brightness medium, and location off.Sim 1, 3g & 2g (50% 3g mode for data)WiFi on (60%, data on standby)Data on (40%, WiFi on standby)Night time: Data & Wifi off▶ 1 day 23 hr 14 min on battery, 100% to 4% (Awesome, right?)SOT (Screen on time) 6hrs 50min (Impressive)•••••••••••••••••••FINAL VERDICT•••••••••••••••••••▶ If you already have 5A, then 5A to 6A won’t be an upgrade though.▶ 5A also available at the moment, so you can get 5A instead of this, if you are not so obsessed with round corners of screen and fresh looks. As it’s a 1 point downgrade as compared to 5A wrt performance & camera.▶ But if you really want to have a new device & go with current day trend of screen & camera, AI, looks, & can live without IR blaster, it’s not a bad deal either. It depends on your usage scenario. Refreshing device it is.Just some tweaks here and there & it will be good to go.▶ BUT be open to other options available out there, you may shell out few bucks to avoid cons.

Value for money? Hell yeah!
Disclaimer: I am not being paid to write this review or I’m not affiliated with any company ex. Xiaomi, Motorolla, Qualcomm, Mediatek, etc. This is solely my review of what I have felt after buying this product today on 9th November, 2018. Please consider this as an honest attempt to putting out things that made me excited for this device.I really love the new display design it is more tall rather then wider, and it makes it easy to use one handed.I would like to point out few points here:1) Performance : I must say it is snappy but that 2GB RAM sometimes make the apps open up a little slower, especially the google Apps. But its all fine when considering the money- It doesn’t throttle performance when there is a heavy load of network and apps running- Initially I thought that it will lag sometimes because 4G VoLTE on both SIM slots, but that’s not the case this phone handles it really well and I must say all credit goes to the Hellios A22 chipset here.If you are looking at other devices who has Snapdragon 415, 425, 430 and it confuses you to chose to go for Mediatek Helios A22 i.e., this device’s chip-set I would the 2.0GHz A22 processor is much better then those Snapdragon 4xx series chipset since this one is made upon 12nm. where as others are on 28nm base.2) Battery : I have been talking to my parent with in-built video chat option in Mi dialer and I must say the battery lasts really.Again I thought dual 4G Bandwidth will eat up a lot of battery but that’s not the case here.3) OS/MiUI :MiUI 10 doesn’t disappoint at all, I have bought this in exchange of Redmi 3S ( which was powerful) but lagged a bit because of not having the latest OS software updates. This OS/ROM is really handy and I really loved the gestures instead of those navigation buttons at the bottom. Though these gestures have a little more learning curve but who doesn’t want to look cool, right?4) Memory : the OS does eat up around 9GB of Storage and left me with 23GB of storage to use ( I bought a 32GB one) and also in the RAM department it always eats up almost 1GB of RAM out of 2GB5) Competitiveness : A little comparison with my current daily driver Motorola Moto G3, I had this since August 2015 and I am still using this just because of Stock Android that I have rooted and custom ROM with. And I was a little reluctant to make Redmi 6A my daily driver but after seeing/feeling and enjoying above points of this device I’m switching full time to Redmi 6A.This product is value for money and you might feel the need of that extra 3GB RAM variant which might be necessary for PUBG players but I guess I would let go about it. Because how much can you squeeze from a company who puts on really amazing hardware at such low cost. Salute to engineers and manager team at Xiaomi and thank you so much that you don’t put extra money/effort in advertising and instead put that same amount in making the devices great at really competitive price. One thing disappointed me is that you guys could have put in a long charging USB cable. This one is too short.Much Love from Bhavangar, Gujarat. And I really hope someone from Xioami or from their team reads this and feels happy and satisfied about their efforts.
