This camera is confusing. It’s confusing how to turn it on, and it’s confusing why you have to use the camera’s own Wi-Fi network and not your own. The screen is tiny, which makes it hard to see anything clearly. Pairing the camera with my phone using the SJCAM app was also frustrating.You’re supposed to be able to view the camera footage on your phone, but how?The tiny instruction manual that came with it is unhelpful and “unreadable”. I went to YouTube looking for tutorials.The best I could find were “unboxing” videos or instructions in languages I couldn’t understand, with more confusing explanations.I was looking for a simple camera: one you turn on, record with, and play back easily. This device feels like you need a month-long course to operate.People are used to their phone’s camera and find it easy because if you’ve used one camera’s interface, you’ve used them all.Trying to learn this camera made me feel like I needed to be a rocket scientist, and I smart.I want to stop putting videos my phone, but this little camera is not going to work!I figured I could learn the camera right before the U.S. holidays, and I was wrong! You need a college course.The parts feel cheap (like something from a dollar store), and the little camera actually feels like it has a fever—it runs so hot.If you are just an average person trying to take pictures and record videos, and you have only ever used your cell phone’s camera, you will not understand how to use this product.

Does not look like true 4k, not even close. My iPhone 14 takes better video. The camera is well packaged and arrives with a lot of accessories. I tried all of the video modes and compared them side by side, nothing that would catch any action moving faster than a walk in bright mid day sunlight. I really wanted this product to work out, it is small and very light but that’s about all. I am sending it back. There is also an odd function, to connect the camera to a phone you need to choose the connect camera function o the camera itself then scan a code it produces to connect to your phone. I took a few still shots and the results were also lack luster.

Great camera but not best with sideways recording

I had never seen a camera of any design with 6-axis image stability so when I saw this SJCAM C300 my curiosity was piqued. I’ve had it for over a week now and haven’t seen any improvement over most other action cameras with 3-axis and definitely not dji or GoPro level stability. I have less expensive action cams that do a better job. Bottom line I can not recommend this camera as I thick it is, even at discounted prices, not worth the money. It’s a low level action camera with limitations I have not experienced in any of my other 7 of various brands. Color doesn’t always seem correct in videos but the audio is decent. Tech support is quick to respond and do give answers that almost make sense. I will keep this camera as it might have some use due to its size. I do not like that you can not switch screens. With the battery handle you only have the rear screen and without the handle you just, of course, have the front screen. User interface is OK and the touch screens seems fairly responsive. One thing to note is that most of the reviews are from Vine users with free cameras.
