The design of this little flash unit doesn’t match very well with modern cameras like my Sony A7RIV. The build quality is also a little plasticky, so it sticks out even more. Form factor aside, this flash does do the job it purports to do. The light is bright and even. The color temperature is in line with what you’d expect from an on-camera flash.The main thing to note, however, is that this is an entirely manual flash. Aside from the command to fire, there is no communication between the flash and your camera like there is with a TTL-compliant flash. The flash itself has an adjustable power level, but again, you’ll need to manage your exposure settings on the camera.But, if you’re okay with the manual nature, I’d say this is a functional option. However, I have seen nicer ones for around the same price.

This isnt the worst flash but I have tried better. The light power isnt the worst but the battry isnt the best. I find that this dies much quicker than some of the bigger flashes I have. Its not horribly made. It feels sturdy. But in under an hour of use, its completely dead. Which is a little disappointing. It wouldn’t be the best if you are planning a night out with because it may not last long, especially if you are planning a photo heavy night. If you are home, this would work better because you are near a charger. It is a very easy flash to use! The directions explain how to use it perfectly. The recycle time isn’t horrible, I dont expect a fast recycle time on such a small flash.
