The parcel that has been sent by train has now been made easy to track with the introduction of the “Online Parcel Guide” app. This app allows you to track the location of your parcel whenever you want. It provides crucial information such as the location of the parcel office, the mobile number of the main booking supervisor, rental charges, and which train to send the parcel on.

The Bhopal Railway Division has launched this app from May 1st. Soon, it will be launched in the Western Central Railway’s Jabalpur and Kota Divisions. The app, named “Online Parcel Guide,” is available on the Google Play Store. It has been developed by Prasanna Kumar, Assistant Commercial Manager of the Bhopal Railway Division.

Required Documents During Booking

You will need a document called the “Forwarding Note,” which includes details of the consignment being booked as well as information about the consignor and consignee. Additionally, an undertaking will be provided in a specified format stating that the e-way bill will be generated and presented before taking delivery. However, if the value of the consignment is less than 50,000/-, the e-way bill is not mandatory.

Booking Process for Motorcycle in Railway Parcel

If you are not traveling with the vehicle by train, you need to book your two-wheeler as a parcel.

1. Submit a photocopy of the registration certificate of the two-wheeler and a government ID proof at the parcel office.
2. Ensure proper packing of the two-wheeler before booking.
3. Make sure that the petrol tank of the vehicle is empty before packing.
4. Mention the origin and destination on a piece of cardboard and attach it to the two-wheeler.
5. Fill in the Forwarding Note with details such as origin, destination, address, weight, value, etc.

Booking Procedure for Transporting a Two-Wheeler as Luggage

If you are traveling to the destination on the same train, you can book the two-wheeler as luggage along with the consignment.

1. Arrive at the station at least half an hour before the actual departure time of your train.
2. The packing, labeling, and marking process for booking the two-wheeler as luggage remains the same as for parcels.
3. Provide information about the journey ticket when booking the two-wheeler as luggage.
4. Upon payment of the prescribed fee, you will receive a luggage ticket, and an endorsement will be made on your journey ticket.
5. Depending on availability, the two-wheeler will be dispatched on the same train you are traveling with.
6. When taking delivery, present the original journey ticket and luggage endorsement, and surrender the luggage ticket.
